Have your students get crafty this week and make a nature collage! Choose one day to head outside to gather natural materials. Remind students to pick items from off the ground, not off the plants. Items can include:

  • nuts
  • leaves
  • bark
  • pebbles or small stones
  • twigs
  • flowers
  • feathers
  • seeds

There are several ways to put a nature collage together. You can use cardstock, cardboard, inexpensive canvas panels, or even wood as a base for the items. Older students can use low-temp glue guns to affix the items. White school glue will also work, but it requires drying time overnight.

Now get outside, and get creative!
