This activity will lead you to explore your yard, collect some beautiful flowers, and create the perfect gift for Mother’s Day.

To begin this project, head outside with a pair of scissors and cut a few flowers that you think would look nice together. Then, fold a piece of white paper and insert it between two pages of a book along with your flowers. Leave the flowers for 4-5 days so that they have enough time to set. Use hot glue to place a small amount of glue behind each flower to hold it in place before closing the frame.

Here are some materials that you may need:

  • Frames (you can either buy one with two sheets of glass or use two of the same size frames to combine both glass sheets in one frame)
  • Hot glue
  • Scissors
  • Books
  • White sheet of paper

For a faster version of this project, this page has a shortcut for pressing your flowers using cotton fabric and firebricks.
