Take the class outside for a nature scavenger hunt. You may make it as simple or as complex as you want. Below are some ideas. 

For younger students:

For older elementary students:

This scavenger hunt by The Taylor House has room for more individual interpretation. Items include “Something Smooth”, “Something Rough”, and “Something You Think is Beautiful”. 

 

Students can search until they find all the items or for an allotted amount of time. When they’re finished, have them come back together to see what they’ve found.
