Today marks the first day of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, also known as the summer solstice – the longest day of the year. It occurs around June 20, 21, and 22, when the tilt of the Earth’s axis is most inclined towards the sun; because of this, the sun reaches its highest point in the sky, providing the maximum amount of daylight.

Cultures around the world celebrate the summer solstice with festivals, dances, and bonfires. To help you celebrate, we’ve come up with a list of outdoor activities you can enjoy today or any day this summer.
